Parade Code of Conduct: Pride in Surrey

The following Code of Conduct applies for everyone taking part in the Parade on September 21st in Guildford.


Everyone taking part in the Parade must be wearing a wristband. Wristbands are posted out in August.

 

1.  Pride In Surrey will not tolerate any threatening, violent or offensive behaviour against its volunteers, other parade participants, police, security personnel or members of the public.

2.  On September 21st we will be celebrating diversity and Pride In Surrey will not tolerate any individual making derogatory remarks about a person's sexuality, gender, gender identity, race, age, nationality, disability, appearance, religion or any other factor.


3.  Any individual not following our Code of Conduct will be removed from the parade immediately by our security team and referred to the police or any other relevant bodies.


4.  Pride In Surrey believes it is important for all parade participants to follow current legal guidelines concerning alcohol and drugs.


5.  Any Parade participant that is deemed aggressive, intoxicated, threatening, or a threat to their own health will not be permitted to take part in the event.


6.  Any poster, sign or banner deemed inappropriate will be not be permitted to be used in the Parade/Event.


7.  As guidance, ‘swimsuit coverage’ is the minimum requirement.


8.  Pride In Surrey ask that any litter is disposed of in the provided bins and or taken away with you.


9.  As part of Organisation/Group applications you are agreeing to organise two responsible adults to act as your stewards per every 20 people. These stewards must be wearing Hi-Vis vest, which are NOT supplied by Pride in Surrey. 


Failure to abide by our Code of Conduct may result in the following:

  • Any person not following our Code of Conduct will be immediately removed from the parade/event and reported to the relevant authorities were necessary.
  • Groups may also be removed at the sole discretion of Pride in Surrey’s organising team. Any fees or bookings paid will be forfeited.

All decisions made by Pride In Surrey, our traffic management company or security providers are final.
